Apple is Not the Alternative Choice

For some reason Apple is still considered the liberal/counter-cultural choice but if you think about every dystopian novel/movie and then I said “there’s going to be a company, the world’s largest company (or thereabouts), they’re going to sell one product (basically - the difference between an iphone/ipad/macbook/apple watch is just the form factor) that everyone has to accept as is, and people will line up for days for that one product, missing work to get it, you will have no control over that product, no ability to modify it or do what you want to it even though it belongs to you, it will cost vastly more than anything else you own relative to what it is, even if that product is so fundamentally broken to the point you have to wrap a rubber band around it to use it that won’t stop people from saying it’s the greatest thing they’ve ever had, that company will hoard hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars of cash from it shareholders that the cash belongs to, and the leader of that company will be semi-worshipped as a deity even after his death”

you would say well that sounds more like the big talking head the apple girl was trying to smash with her hammer in that famous commercial than the apple girl
